Making a Difference: Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients Thailand's CSR Activity in Khao Yai
Contributing to wildlife conservation through hands-on efforts at Khao Yai National Park.
As part of Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients Thailand's recent company outing to Khao Yai, the JJIT team had the privilege of contributing to a meaningful environmental initiative at Khao Yai National Park. Together, our Thailand team took part in a CSR activity that involved creating artificial salt licks to support the park’s wildlife.
Artificial salt licks are vital for providing essential minerals to animals such as wild elephants and gaurs, helping them thrive within their natural habitat. By participating in this project, we not only helped sustain the local ecosystem but also deepened our understanding of the importance of conservation efforts.
The activity itself was a unique and rewarding experience. Armed with pickaxes and hoes, we took turns digging half-meter-deep trenches in the cool and refreshing mountain weather. Though the task seemed straightforward, it quickly became clear how physically demanding it was. Many of us joked about how digging holes in movies always looks so effortless! But as we worked together, taking turns with the tools, the camaraderie and teamwork made it an enjoyable challenge.
After the trenches were dug, we added the mineral mixture and blocks, which had to be broken up in the trench. Once the minerals were in place, we covered the trenches with soil and then carefully watered the area to complete the process. The entire process required coordination and effort, but seeing the finished salt licks felt incredibly satisfying. At the end of the day, we were all smiles, proud to have contributed to an initiative that directly helps sustain local wildlife.
This hands-on experience reminded us of the impact small actions can have when it comes to protecting the environment. It was a humbling and joyful activity that strengthened our team spirit and left us with a deeper appreciation for nature. We’re proud to have played a role in preserving the balance of nature and look forward to continuing our commitment to sustainability.
